In reply to OldHighlandGuy. I've been fortunate to have seen both. Sure, a mountain is a mountain and the ocean the ocean. Both have plenty of each in close proximity and remarkable views. But, trust me, they are very different places and you will not think that they are so much once you visit Ireland. Piece of advice. If you want to stay a day in Dublin a day to recoup, fine, but it is not a magical city, and I recommend you get into the countryside as quick as possible. The whole island is beautiful.

Even though we want to visit Ireland in the near future, we can find the same views and vistas along the California coast. The California coast is one of the most beautiful in the world. But, we are still planning to visit Ireland to get back to our roots.
